Research Study

My name is Ella Mayo-Kiely, a senior in high school at THINK Global School. I would like to invite you to take part in my research study entitled, “The Relationship Between Age at Diagnosis of Autism and Mental Health in Autistic Individuals Assigned Female at Birth” for my AP Research class. You are free to talk with someone you trust about your participation in this research and may take time to reflect on whether you wish to participate or not. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at or my educator at

The purpose of this research study is to explore and provide insight on the relationship between the age at which an individual assigned female at birth is diagnosed with autism, their access to support and resources, and their mental health later in life.

During this research study, you will be asked to answer a list of roughly 70 multiple choice and free response questions about your autism diagnosis, access to support, resources, and accommodations throughout your life, and your current and past mental health.

The survey will take approximately 15-40 minutes to complete.

You do not have to agree to participate in this research study. If you do choose to participate, you may choose not to complete the survey at any point. Additionally, the responses will be completely anonymous, including to myself.

During this research study, it is possible that you will experience certain risks or discomforts such as discussions of suicidal ideation and self harm. If these topics are or could be triggering to you, please do not participate in this study.

The confidentiality of your participation in this research study, your responses or any individual results will be maintained by myself. As previously stated, all responses are completely anonymous.
