Make a tax-free gift from your IRA to AANE
President Obama signed a bill late in 2015, permanently allowing you to make a tax-free gift to AANE directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA). This transfer qualifies for the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) each year. To make your gift under the new charitable IRA legislation, you need to:
- Be age 70 1/2 or older.
- Give any amount up to $100,000 from your IRA.
- Transfer funds directly from a traditional or rollover IRA.
Transfer the gift outright to AANE (Note that roll-overs to a gift annuity or charitable remainder trust are not eligible under this legislation.)

If you are making an ongoing charitable contribution through the United Way, please consider writing in AANE as the donor recipient. While direct contributions are the optimal choice, AANE is thankful for any contribution that can be made through agencies like this.
