Stress in Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Research Study

The purpose of this study is to investigate why some parents of children with ASD are more stressed than others despite experiencing similar ASD-related stressors. The findings of this project could lead to the proposal of targeted interventions to support families and facilitate family functioning.

If you are a parent of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), you are invited to participate in an online survey conducted by Dr. Madison Silverstein and secondary investigator Patricia Andia Jara from the Psychology Research Lab at Loyola University New Orleans.

If you decide that you would like to participate, we will ask you to complete an online survey including questions about your experience as a parent of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), your perceptions of stress, how you are feeling in your current situation, how the pandemic affected you and your family. The survey is estimated to take about 30 minutes from start to finish, and is followed by an optional short meditation.
