If you have a child under 6 years old that 1) has been diagnosed with autism, 2) has a sibling diagnosed with autism, AND/OR 3) is suspected of having autism, the University of Houston Cognitive Development Lab invites you to take part in our exciting research project investigating how children learn about the world around them through interactive play.
This project consists of a parent-child play session conducted IN-PERSON at our lab in Houston. Children may also participate in the following optional tasks depending on their age: a motor assessment (18mo or younger), two vocabulary tests (30mo or older), an IQ test (12mo or older), and the ADOS-2 (a gold-standard autism diagnostic test; 12 mo or older and walking). Visits take between 45 minutes and 2 hours.
Participating families will receive a FREE summary of their child's results along with an Amazon gift card, family passes to the Children's Museum of Houston, and a gift-bundle (book, toy, T-shirt, etc).
Interested families can fill out our interest form (bit.ly/cogdev), email us at uhcogdevheadcam@gmail.com, or text or call us at (972) 503-9720. Thank you!
