AANE Updates…
Remembering Ellen Korin
AANE was saddened to learn of the passing of Ellen Korin. We wish to honor and remember Ellen for all she was to our community: a coach, consultant, author, college professor, Special Education Department Chair, speaker, and always a friend and supporter. As a dedicated special educator in the Lexington, MA district, she had a positive impact on many students’ lives.
Ellen was a frequent speaker at AANE conferences, including our very first conference for women and girls in 2004. She generously shared the insights she learned from her work teaching social skills in the schools with the broader Asperger/autism community. Some of her wisdom lives on in the two volumes of her classic book, “Asperger Syndrome: An Owner’s Manual.” For this we are forever grateful.
