Article

Watertown, MA – June 7, 2019 –  The Asperger/Autism Network (AANE), an organization based in Watertown, MA serving the Asperger/autism community, is thrilled to announce that the Asperger Syndrome & High Functioning Autism Association (AHA), an organization with offices in New York City and Long Island, is now affiliated with AANE.  The consolidation of AHA and AANE brings together like-minded, non-profit organizations with compatible missions, values, and programs and will allow AANE to slowly expand its programming into the NYC region.

For over 30 years, AHA has been an important resource in the Asperger/autism community.  All programs and services offered by AHA will continue, but moving forward AHA will operate under the AANE name. Dania Jekel will continue as AANE’s Executive Director, and Pat Schissel will serve as New York Director of AANE.  All AANE services and programs currently offered in New England and online will remain in place, and the organization will continue to develop and implement additional programming in response to evolving community needs. AANE looks forward to building partnerships and collaborating with individuals, organizations, and agencies that share similar values in metro NYC.
