Parenting a child with Autism spectrum disorder; the impact of spirituality and support on parental burnout

Research Study

You are invited to take part in a research study that I am conducting as part of my Masters Research Project for the University of Derby.
The study will be looking at the effects of spirituality, support and parenting a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder in relation to parental burnout.

Participation in this study is only for the following parents:
• Parents who are 18 years or older
• Parents with at least one child who has been diagnosed with ASD for at least 12 months between the ages of 3-18, residing in the same house as you.

Parents who are vulnerable (those with learning difficulties or diagnosed mental health conditions) or those who are above the age of 70 will not be allowed to take part in the study

Basic demographic information will also be taken prior to the questionnaire. We advise you to fill the questionnaire as honestly as possible, providing true and accurate data for the researchers. To avoid any negative effects from using a computer screen continuously, we advise you to take short breaks wherever deemed necessary.

Please note that all answers will remain confidential to the researchers where you will be required to create a unique identifier.

Please ensure that you complete the questionnaire using a desktop, laptop or mobile device. In addition, since electrical devices will be used during your participation in this study, we advise that no liquids be used near the electrical devices. The questionnaire will take approximately 20 minutes to complete
