A Time to Grow
In this season of growth,
AANE is thrilled to be finalizing arrangements to
join forces with AHA this month. While maintaining our successful in-person and online programs, AANE looks forward to this exciting opportunity to expand our community and support to the New York City area.
AANE has many programs and services that address the changing needs of individuals with an Asperger/autism profile as they grow. Our effective coaching program, which includes
parent coaching for
family members and
LifeMAP coaching for
adults on the spectrum, is available year-round to offer guidance through each stage of development. Our new, independent living support program called
LifeNet is ready to welcome its second group of adults this summer. If you are a life coach or human services
professional, don’t miss the opportunity to develop your skills and grow your practice with
AsperCoach Training, which will take place in June.
As always,
contact AANE
for resources & information and guidance for each step of life.
What’s in a Name?
Celebrities recently disclosing an autism diagnosis for themselves or their spouse have highlighted an on-going issue in the autism community regarding the language used to describe a person’s autism profile. Executive Director Dania Jekel takes an honest look at this unresolved subject and shares her hopes for the future of language to describe the varying aspects of autism.

“Who will support our adult child on the spectrum when we’re gone?”
AANE Welcoming Applicants for Next Group of LifeNet Adults
AANE now has a program called
LifeNet to address this burning question that keeps so many of our families up at night. LifeNet successfully began supporting its first group of 20 adults in January and we are now open to receive up to 20 new adults/families to join our next LifeNet group slated to begin service in June/July 2019.
Learn more about LifeNet and how to enroll. Also consider joining us for the LifeNet Spring Info Session on Thursday evening, May 16 @ AANE!
Spring/Summer Support Groups
AANE is pleased to offer select support groups for adults on the autism spectrum through the summer. Group timing and availability will vary, but click below to be added to a wait list. You will be contacted when a spot is available for the group of your choice. Don’t miss this chance to stay connected!
