Help-Seeking Behaviour Towards Mental Health and the Relationship with Self-Compassion in Parents of Children with Autism

Research Study

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether there is a relationship between help seeking behaviour for mental health and self-compassion in parents of children with autism.

The term ‘parent’ refers to natural mother/father, stepmother/stepfather, or foster mother/father

Eligibility: You are eligible to take part in this study if you are:
– The parent of a child under the age of 18 that has received a diagnosis of autism
– The parent of a child under the age of 18 who has neurotypical development

The term ‘neurotypical development” refers to children who show characteristics of typical neurological development and have not been diagnosed with a development disorder e.g. autism spectrum disorder/ attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
