DESCRIPTION: Working with an individual on the spectrum is rarely a one-person show. Successful outcomes require the integration of a group of professionals and family members who contribute to the client’s growth and progress. This workshop explores how to work effectively as a team. It emphasizes the need for collaboration, not competition, in order to benefit the client, as well as setting mutual goals and aligned strategies.
HOSTS: Aaron Lubogo, OTD, is a LifeMAP Clinician and Systems Manager for AANE’s LifeMAP program and has served as a LifeMAP coach for two years. Receiving his doctorate degree from Western New England University in occupational therapy, he has experience serving and providing service within outpatient rehabilitation, school settings, and remotely via telehealth. Within LifeMAP coaching Aaron works with young adult clients who are often in life transitions and looking to obtain higher education, employment, and increased independent living skills.
Jennifer Green, MSW, is the LifeMAP Clinical Process Manager who has worked as a LifeMAP coach and staff clinician for seven years. She received her MSW from Boston College and lives in greater Boston. Jennifer welcomes new clients to LifeMAP by conducting informational phone calls and entry meetings, consulting with the clinical team, and assigning the client to the most appropriate coach. When clients end their time in coaching she oversees the feedback process. Her coaching with LifeMAP clients often focuses on developing a network of support that advances the skills of communicating with one’s “team” leading to a sense of empowerment and the ability to problem-solve and achieve goals.
