Online Skill Building for LifeMAP Coaches and AAPCA Members: Self-Regulation – Understanding and Managing the Enigma, 10/29/21, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM ET

DESCRIPTION: Dysregulation can create difficult situations at college, at work or even in personal lives of adults on the spectrum. In this workshop, knowledge will be shared on how to help your client understand what affects their regulation. Strategies and tools will be shared that will help adults manage these difficult situations.

SPEAKER: Sangeeta Verma is presently a director on the AANE Board. She held the position of LifeMAP Coach Supervisor from July 2014 to December 2020. The role involved supporting the coaches by giving expert advice, suggestions and providing resources. Her enriching experience as a LifeMAP coach, since 2010, helped her understand the nuances of working with the Asperger population. She has been an integral part of the AsperCoach training faculty since its inception.

Sangeeta was a team member of a research project on prosody in children with Asperger’s syndrome. She is an Alumnus of Cadlab at Northeastern University. She is an experienced professional with over 30 years in the area of speech pathology. Amongst other speech, language and communication problems Sangeeta has worked extensively with children on the autism spectrum. She has been a significant contributor to social impact projects including the founding of a school for special education in rural India. She was responsible for creating awareness about education, employment and rehabilitation opportunities for individuals with disabilities through a community-based rehabilitation program initiated by her.

COST: free to LifeMAP coaches, and a $10 charge to AAPCA members

REGISTRATION: Advanced registration is required.  After you have registered, a confirmation email is sent with a link to attend the program. Registrants who do not receive the confirmation email should check their email spam folder. Registration closes 24 hours prior to the event. Early registration is highly recommended as many programs fill quickly.

  • “Open” events/groups may have different participants joining from session to session and “Closed” events/groups have the same participants for a set number of sessions.
