DESCRIPTION: Changing routines, struggles with executive functioning, and low energy levels are just a few of the factors that impact a person’s ability to meet their self-care needs. Participants of this skill-building workshop will learn about common barriers to meeting self-care goals and gain knowledge of practical coaching strategies for supporting clients with them. Topics covered during the workshop include but are not limited to, building a daily routine, managing living environments, grooming, and social engagement.

HOST: Nicole Kloss is the LifeMAP coach supervisor at AANE. Nicole started working with AANE as a LifeMAP coach while pursuing her Doctorate in occupational therapy from Western New England University. As part of her doctoral research, she developed an intercultural learning program to enhance cultural competency among members of an international non-profit organization using a telehealth model. Nicole is a licensed occupational therapist with a background in recreational therapy, skilled rehabilitation, public education, and project management. She enjoys supporting her LifeMAP clients in the areas of social engagement, employability, perspective-taking, and self-awareness. Nicole prides herself on fostering a strengths-based coaching environment that is focused on meeting her clients where they are and empowering them to self-direct their coaching experience to meet their goals.
