Online Skill Building for LifeMAP Coaches and AAPCA Members: Accommodations and Disclosure – Helping Clients Navigate Employment Needs, 1/21/22, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM ET

DESCRIPTION: Navigating employment expectations and environments can be challenging for our coaching clients. At times, it may be useful or necessary to request accommodations and/or disclose one’s diagnosis to promote success in employment. This workshop will cover the various factors that should be considered when supporting clients around these topics.
SPEAKER: Jessica Sales Cohen is the Associate Director of LifeMAP at the Asperger/Autism Network (AANE), as well as a LifeMAP coach. Jessica obtained her B.S.B.A. from Boston University School of Management and her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, and has been a practicing attorney since 1997. With her legal background, Jessica has extensive experience advising individuals and families in matters involving disability discrimination, employment, and special education. A native of Boston, Jessica resides in the Metro-west area with her husband, two children, and three dogs. She enjoys yoga, martial arts, reading, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.

REGISTRATION: Advanced registration is required. After you have registered, a confirmation email is sent with a link to attend the program. Registrants who do not receive the confirmation email should check their email spam folder. Registration closes 24 hours prior to the event. Early registration is highly recommended as many programs fill quickly.
EVENT & GROUP INFORMATION: All AANE programming is currently online. The following terms are used for different audience specifications:
- “Open” events/groups may have different participants joining from session to session and “Closed” events/groups have the same participants for a set number of sessions.
CODES OF CONDUCT: Participants at AANE events are expected to act respectfully toward other participants and group facilitators. AANE reserves the right to deny admission, ask an individual participant to leave, or remove participants from the event/program for inappropriate or disrespectful behavior.
