Online “Open” Support Group for Families of Adults, 4/25/21, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM ET

DESCRIPTION: This open group (formerly Greater Hudson Valley, NY) meets one Sunday a month and is for parents, family members, and friends of adult individuals who have an Asperger/autism spectrum profile. Guest speakers are hosted every other month.
TOPIC: Dr. Russell Tobe, Director in the Clinical Evaluation Center at the Nathan Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research will review clinical trial updates in Autism Spectrum Disorders with a focus on the endogenous cannabinoid system as a target for therapeutic development.
SPEAKER BIO: Dr. Tobe is a board-certified psychiatrist and scientific investigator in research studies of typical brain development and Autism Spectrum Disorders. He completed his medical school at the University of Chicago and completed his adult psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center. As Director in the Clinical Evaluation Center at the Nathan Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research, Dr. Tobe supervises a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, clinical evaluators, and research support assistants.
