Online “Open” All About Grilling – A Cooking Workshop for Adults, 8/19/22, 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM ET

August 19 @ 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm, $25

DESCRIPTION: Summertime and grilling season are upon us and hosting or helping with a backyard barbecue can be a fun way to bring friends and family together. But maybe you’re wondering how to grill a meal without scorching all the taste out of the food. Or about balancing all of those different ingredients on the grill grate. Kate has been grilling for over 20 years and is excited to share her tips and tricks for grilling delicious food while minimizing the stress that often comes with cooking.

Participants in this workshop for autistic adults will:
1. Review how to read a recipe and plan a meal for the grill
2. Discuss time management and ways to stay organized while cooking
3. Learn how to prepare ingredients for grilling, cook a whole meal over an open flame, and plate the meal in an appealing way

The cooking portion of this workshop will primarily be a demonstration. No equipment or supplies are needed to participate. Questions and discussion are encouraged throughout.

Following the workshop, Kate will share all of her recipes and tips with participants via email, so that they can try them out at home. She will also be available via email for additional questions and trouble shooting. So come hand around the grill from the comfort of your own home (via Zoom) and learn how to grill a delicious meal. (Note: The demo will include the cooking of meat and meat products.)
