CANCELLED – Online LOCAL Watertown, MA “Open” Support Group for Women, 5/24/23, 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM ET

DESCRIPTION: This open group is for those who identify as female and live within commuting distance of Watertown, MA. The group meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month. Discussions will focus on what it means to be an independent adult, sexuality, safety, mother/daughter relationships, managing anxiety and sensory issues associated with autism, employment challenges and successes, being a woman on the autism spectrum, friendships and relationships.

TIME: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM ET

COST: Free

CAPACITY: 30 participants

REGISTRATION: Advanced registration is required.  After you have registered, a confirmation email is sent with a link to attend the program. Registrants who do not receive the confirmation email should check their email spam folder. Registration closes 24 hours prior to the event or first session. Early registration is highly recommended as many programs fill quickly.

AUDIENCE: AANE Adult Support Groups, Social Groups, and events are intended for post-high school adults on the spectrum who are able to self-regulate AND independently participate in activities without the assistance of a dedicated caretaker.

EVENT & GROUP INFORMATION: Most of AANE programming is currently online. The following terms are used for different audience specifications:

  •  LOCAL [City, State] in front of the event/group name is intended for those living in the vicinity of the indicated area. If LOCAL is not indicated, the event is available to those living anywhere.
  • “Open” has new people joining from session to session. Closed” have the same members for a set number of sessions.
