Registration is now open for the AANE’s Online “Closed” Support Group for Parents of Young Children (<12). This group is designed for parents and other adult family members of young children who have been diagnosed with Aspergers/Autism or other similar profiles.

This small group setting limited to 16 participants allows parents to connect with each other and delivers a wealth of information.

This group will be run by Amanda Bailey. Amanda Bailey, Child and Teen Services Family Support Specialist, first turned to AANE in 2013 as a parent in need of guidance when grappling with a new diagnosis. She draws on her knowledge as the parent of two children with autism and direct experience in family support through leadership of her local Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) and ongoing work with Mass Families Organizing for Change (MFOFC). In 2016, she attended the Federation for Children with Special Needs Parent Consultant Training Institute. Amanda is available to help parents over the phone, online, through support groups, and via in-person coaching.

“Closed” groups and activities have the same members for a set number of sessions.

Meeting Dates: 9/1, 9/15, 9/29, 10/13, 10/27, 11/10, 11/24, 12/8

Cost: $160 for the first family member and $40 for the second family member.

Financial assistance options are available for 50% or 75% off of the registration cost.

After you register, please consider donating the cost of registration so that someone in financial need can attend.

To learn more about financial assistance, please contact stephanie.birkdale@aane.org.  No one will be turned away due to cost.
