FILLED – Online “Closed” Support Group for Adults, 9/14/20-11/16/20, 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM EDT
September 14 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm, $80.00
A closed support group (previously called a Support Group Series) has the same group members (up to 12) for a set number of sessions (8). (In contrast, an open group has an undefined number of group members with new people coming and going on a regular basis.) Closed support groups are ideal for adults who are looking for more deeper connections and more extensive peer support from group members. For the best support group experience, closed group members should plan on attending all 8 meetings in the series.
This group offers a safe environment where adults on the spectrum can talk with like-minded people, share issues and concerns, and celebrate successes.
Moderator: The group will be moderated by Nisha Narvekar. Nisha Narvekar has been with AANE for over 9 years in various capacities. She was LifeMAP Assistant Director and a seasoned LifeMAP coach. From support groups for siblings and parents to information and referral for AANE’s Adult Services, Nisha enjoys a rich experience from working with a diverse set of clients. Nisha is currently pursuing her Ph.D. Nisha has a Master’s degree in Community Social Psychology from UMASS Lowell and in Applied Psychology from India. While in India, Nisha worked with underprivileged children at a high risk of HIV, using dance therapy for group counseling, creating HIV awareness.
Registration is at capacity. This event is full.
A strong internet connection and a computer or tablet with a camera and microphone are required for this group.
All meetings will be held online. We will meet for 8 meetings on Mondays from 4:30 p.m-6:00 p.m EST.

- Independent Living
- Daily Living Skills
