FILLED – Online “Closed” Support Group Series for Women (18-35) 8/11/20-11/17/20 6:30-8:00 PM EDT
August 11 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm, $10.00
This “closed” adult support group is designed for young women ages 18-35 who are on the autism spectrum. Through this group, young women can build an ongoing connection with a small community of other young women. AANE closed adult support groups also give adults an opportunity to voice their concerns and frustrations. It also lets them acknowledge hard-won and unexpected victories.
Moderator: Kim Wutkiewicz has a long history of working with individuals to navigate challenges and find balance, as both a board-certified acupuncturist and registered yoga teacher. Currently, as the Communications Manager at The Food Project, she spends her days writing about the ways in which people and neighborhoods can work together to thrive through youth development, sustainable farming initiatives, community engagement, and honoring diversity in all of it’s expressions. From 2016 – 2018, Kim worked in AANE’s Development Department, where she wrote extensively about the unique experiences of people living with Aspergers and related profiles, particularly women living on the spectrum. She continues to explore the ways in which neurodiverse perspectives enrich our world and all of our lives.
A strong internet connection and a computer or tablet with a camera and microphone are required for this group.
All meetings will be held online. We will meet for 8 meetings on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00 p.m EDT.
Common topics of discussion are:
- Independent Living
- Daily Living Skills
Cost: Group members need to register in advance and membership is limited to 12 individuals. Members must be young women ages 18-35 with Asperger’s or a related profile. Due to a generous grant from Felicity House, we are able to offer this support group series at a very low cost. The cost, which covers all 8 meetings in the support group series, is $10 per person. This payment covers all four meetings and you must register for the entire series.
Financial Assistance: We do recognize that registration fees may be a hardship for some adults. If this is the case, contact (Stephanie.Birkdale@aane.org) for a fee discount or waiver. We want to make sure that you get the support you need.
Registration is at capacity. This event is full.
