DESCRIPTION: AANE, in partnership with the Boston Public Library, has created a book discussion group for adults with an Asperger/autism or related profile. The group meets every month to discuss a specific book (fiction or nonfiction) selected by the group. The next book will be decided at the July 28 meeting.

The group meets every month to discuss a specific book (fiction or nonfiction). Post-high school adults on the spectrum are welcome to attend the meetings, whether or not they have finished the book selected for the meeting. Books for the currently planned meetings are:

  • July 28: Please note that the format for this particular meeting has changed. For this meeting, participants are free to read a book of their own choosing and discuss said book at the July 28 meeting. This change has been made due to software limitations of digital books from the library.
  • August 25: TBD
  • September 29: TBD

CODE OF CONDUCT: This book club is intended for post-high school adults on the spectrum who are able to independently participate in group discussions without the assistance of a caretaker.

Participants at AANE events are expected to act respectfully toward other participants and group facilitators. “Open” groups and programs have an undefined number of group members with new people coming and going on a regular basis.
