Gender Identity Drop-In Support Group

June 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm, Free

WHAT: This group is for autistic adults who identify as transgender, who arequestioning their gender identity, or who question gender roles. Many of our members identify as transgender, nonbinary, genderfluid, and other identities under the trans umbrella. Autistic gender-nonconforming people are welcome, as are those who feel uncomfortable with societal gender roles. We aim to be inclusive.
Please join us on the third Tuesday of the month, for our monthly peer support group. Meet other people, hear one another’s stories, and share the unique concerns and perspectives that come with these shared identities and experiences. This group is led by a peer moderator who identifies as autistic and transgender.
WHO: This space is primarily intended for trans (and questioning) autistic people. Generally speaking, cisgender (non-trans) and allistic (non-autistic) people (including partners, friends, and family members) should not attend.
SUGGESTED DONATION: Up to $5. You can pre-pay online (click the green “Register” button, above), or you can bring between zero and five dollars, in cash. No one will be turned away (or treated differently) for inability to donate. We encourage you to attend, regardless of your ability to donate.

Upcoming Meeting Dates: 6/18/2019, 7/16/2019, 8/20/2019

*Please note that attendees now have the option to pay online or at the door. We encourage people to pay online but it is not required.

**Please note that AANE reserves the right to cancel this event if the minimum number of registrants (4) is not met by the deadline.

Drop-In support groups for adults on the Autism Spectrum meet in person at various locations throughout New England.  Advance registration for each meeting is encouraged, in case we need to cancel or reschedule a meeting due to inclement weather. Newcomers are always welcome, but for the best drop-in support group experience, we recommend that newcomers contact events@aane.org or the group facilitator prior to the meeting for a brief group orientation. Orientation discussions are typically done via phone.
