Bi-Weekly Online Support Group Series for Women Ages 19-35
September 4 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm, $10.00
Bi-Weekly on Wednesdays – Online Support Group Series for Young Women (19-35)
This adult support group series is designed for young women ages 19-35 who are on the autism spectrum. Through this support group series, young women can build an ongoing connection with a small community of other young women. AANE adult support group series also give adults an opportunity to voice their concerns and frustrations. It also lets them acknowledge hard-won and unexpected victories.
Moderator: The group will be moderated by Erica Remi. Erica Rémi is the Director of Development at AANE and responsible for raising funds to support its programs and services. Prior to joining AANE in 2017, Erica worked at the nonprofit organization Year Up and the consulting firm Development Guild. She has gained extensive knowledge about Asperger/autism profiles through working with neurodiverse colleagues, building relationships with AANE community members, and parenting a child on the spectrum.
A strong internet connection and a computer or tablet with a camera and microphone are required for this group.
All meetings will be held online. We will meet bi-weekly for 8 meetings on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30 p.m EST.
Common topics of discussion are:
- Independent Living
- Daily Living Skills
Cost: Group members need to register in advance and membership is limited to 12 individuals. Members must be young women ages 19-35 with Asperger’s or a related profile. Due to a generous grant from Felicity House, we are able to offer this support group series at a very low cost. The cost, which covers all 8 meetings in the support group series, is $10 per person. This payment covers all four meetings and you must register for the entire series.
Financial Assistance: We do recognize that registration fees may be a hardship for some adults. If this is the case, contact (Stephanie.Birkdale@aane.org) for a fee discount or waiver. We want to make sure that you get the support you need.
