Berklee College of Music: Free Music Lessons at AANE

The Berklee Institute for Arts Education and Special Needs (BIAES) has been kind enough to offer free group music lessons to adults on the autism spectrum. Participants are expected to attend all lessons as students will participate in a public performance at the end of the lesson period.
Where: AANE Office, 51 Water Street, Watertown, MA, 02472
When: Lessons are on Tuesday evenings on the following dates – 2/19, 2/26, 3/5, 3/19, 3/26, 4/2, 4/9, 4/16, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/21
Time: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
What: Students may choose from the following instruments:
- Alto Saxophone
Cost: Please note that lessons are free, but instrument rental from Berklee is $20 for the semester. You can arrange for and pay online for instrument rental when you register for lessons. Because some students in the past have neglected to return their rented instruments, a security deposit of $400 (in the form of a check or money order) made out to Berklee College of Music is also required. You must bring the security deposit with you to the first lesson in order to participate. Berklee will hold these security deposits until the last lesson. If you return your instrument to Berklee, you will receive your security deposit back. If you don’t return your rental instrument by May 21, Berklee will cash the security deposit.
