AANE Webinar: Neuropsychological Evaluations for Neurodiverse Individuals

WHAT: Participants will learn when is the “right time” to request a neuropsychological evaluation and how recommendations from a neuropsychological evaluation are used to support neurodiverse individuals at school, at work, and at home. Participants will also learn appropriate methods for evaluating neuro-diverse individuals from early childhood to adulthood, including an understanding of the “gold standard” tools that are used, the usefulness of projective/psychological tests, and the inclusion of other assessment methods such as school or community observations.
Renée Marchant, Psy.D. is a pediatric neuropsychologist at NESCA who specializes in neurodevelopmental evaluations and psychological/projective testing. She specializes in identifying co-occurring emotional and learning challenges in neurodiverse individuals. Prior to NESCA, she has trained and worked at Cambridge Health Alliance, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital, and the University of Utah’s Neuropsychiatric Institute. Dr. Marchant has a particular interest in working with children who present with “unique learning styles” and young preschoolers with developmental and emotional challenges. Dr. Marchant also has extensive experience as a child and family therapist in outpatient, inpatient, and residential settings.
