DESCRIPTION: Join us for a virtual panel discussion featuring parents of adults on the spectrum. Hear their stories and insights from their parenting journey. How did they talk with their child about disclosure? How did they navigate their child’s journey into young adulthood? SPEAKER BIOS: Lynne Mitchell is a clinical social worker and is currently the clinical director of Granite Academy, a middle/high school that serves students with social-emotional needs as well as students with ASD. Lynne has been specializing in AS professionally even before she was faced with AS at home. She has been presenting to parent groups and at conferences giving both the perspective of the child and the parent as they face the ups and downs that come with living with AS as both a child and parent.
Lisa Stringfellow is a middle-school teacher and mother to three young adults on the spectrum. Lisa writes middle-grade fiction and her debut fantasy A Comb of Wishes will be published on February 8, 2022, by HarperCollins/Quill Tree Books. She received the inaugural Kweli Color of Children’s Literature Manuscript Award in 2019 for the novel manuscript. Her professional work has appeared in Edutopia, Education Week, and Independent Teacher Magazine. Lisa lives and works in Massachusetts with her children and two bossy cats.

REGISTRATION: Advanced registration is required. After you have registered, a confirmation email is sent with a link to attend the program. Registrants who do not receive the confirmation email should check their email spam folder. Registration closes 24 hours prior to the event or first session. Early registration is highly recommended as many programs fill quickly.
This webinar will be recorded. If you are not available during the live presentation, registrants will receive the video link to access the recording of the presentation two business days after the session ends. Registrants can access the recorded presentation for 30 days.

- “Open” events/groups may have different participants joining from session to session and “Closed” events/groups have the same participants for a set number of sessions.
