Friendships, dating, and relationships can be challenging for many people. When an Asperger/autism or related profile is added to the equation, these areas can become more difficult. Adults on the spectrum may have difficulty fulfilling the social, executive functioning, sensory, and perspective taking tasks often needed to establish and maintain friendships and relationships. Significant anxiety often inhibits or prevents those with autism from even attempting to enter into relationships despite a desire to do so. This conference will explore the issues of intimacy, sex, and dating and offer strategies for establishing and maintaining relationships for those with autism spectrum profiles.
