Evaluation of a brief, telehealth intervention to support emotional distress of autistic adults during COVID-19

Research Study

Researchers at Rutgers University are recruiting autistic adults for a research study to evaluate a brief telehealth intervention designed to support coping with negative emotions during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

You may be eligible if you:
– Are at least 18 years old
– Have a previous diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder
– Have an iOS or Android compatible smartphone
– English is your primary language
If you are eligible, you will be asked to complete:
– Questionnaires about you and your social and emotional functioning
– 2 intervention visits to create an Emotional Support Plan
– Once-weekly monitoring visits for 8 weeks
* Some participants will also be asked to complete check-ins via a smartphone app up to 4 times per day for 8 weeks
– 1 follow-up visit 4 weeks after final monitoring visit
***All visits will be conducted over videoconference***

– You can receive up to $160 for your participation
– If you are asked to complete daily check-ins, you can receive up to $280
