Effects of Calmer on Quality of Life in those with Level 1 Autism

Research Study

The SSTAR lab at the University of Mississippi is conducting research to test the effects of Flare Audio’s Calmer on the quality of life of those having Level 1 Autism (previously known as Asperger's Syndrome).  Calmer is a small silicone ear insert (similar to an earbud), which will be worn for at least 3 hours daily for 3 weeks.  We will provide Calmer to all participants, and there is no cost for participation.  Calmer is advertised as “a clever gadget that reduces stressful frequencies without muffling sound, which soothes sound sensitivities & helps you feel calmer.”

Participants must be above the age of eighteen and report a level one autism diagnosis. Potential participants will complete an entrance survey to see if they will qualify for this study. All aspects of this study have been approved by the Internal Review Board at The University of Mississippi.  Feel free to contact us for more information at mamorri4@go.olemiss.edu.
