Communication Skills in Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Research Study

Researchers in the Laboratories of Cognitive Neuroscience (LCN) at Boston Children’s Hospital are seeking volunteers with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to participate in a 1-2 hour training opportunity. The purpose of this opportunity is to train our staff on administering assessments used in our research studies. The training involves coming in for a visit during which our staff members will conduct the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS).

Dr. Inge-Marie Eigsti from the Department of Psychological Sciences at UConn is doing research on communication abilities. We are enrolling adults ages 18-35 with Autism Spectrum Disorders, who have age-appropriate verbal communication skills.

What’s involved? You’ll spend a few hours playing games and doing tasks involving language, memory, and problem-solving on the Storrs UConn campus.

You will be compensated $10 per hour for your time. Participants will have an opportunity to participate in a brain imaging study, which pays $40.
