This study examines autistic youths’ perception of their autism identity, factors that impact this self-perception, and how autism identity is related to wellbeing. This study is conducted by non-autistic and autistic researchers.
In order to participate, the participant must meet all the following criteria:
1) be between the ages of 12-18 years old
2) have an awareness of their autism/ identify as being autistic
3) participants can take part in the interview via speaking, typing, or AAC, depending on their preference.
If your child (12-17 years old) is interested in participating in our study, please have a caregiver will fill out a 5-10 minute eligibility form here. If the teen is 18 years, they can fill this form out themself. After the interview, participants will engage in a brief discussion about their strengths associated with autism and receive a resource about neurodiversity.
All eligible participants who complete the interview will receive a payment of $25 via Venmo or PayPal.
