Autism and the Usability of User Interfaces ContainingAnimations

Research Study

This research focuses on the usability of websites containing animations on autistic people compared to non-autistic users. In addition, it will contribute knowledge to the human-computer interaction (HCI) research community and inform web designers on how to build more accessible websites that support the autistic community.
The research team includes autistic researchers.
We hope our study will improve guidelines for designing accessible web pages.

The experiment will be conducted online. If you decide to take part in the research project, you will:
• Complete a pre-questionnaire. Completing pre-test questionnaire will take approximately 6 minutes.
• Book a time with the research student for an on-line usability test.
• Via Microsoft Teams or Skype, you will complete tasks on the PC or laptop you normally use. Example tasks are: finding an option in multiple menus, editing an email, buying a product, and solving a simple sudoku. This process will take approximately 10 minutes.
• Complete a post-questionnaire. Completing the questionnaire will take approximately 3 minutes.
