Finding the Right Therapist
There are many times in life when working with an experienced therapist can provide tremendous insight and guidance, but finding a good fit is key. Executive Director Dania Jekel discusses the core qualities a therapist should have when working with someone with an Asperger/autism profile.
In Memory of Elsa Abele
AANE was deeply saddened by the passing of Elsa Abele last month. Elsa was a formative figure in AANE’s history, facilitating programs for community members and governing on the Board of Directors and other committees.
As the culmination of an effort that began in early 2019, more than 75 people gathered at AANE on Saturday, July 13 to officially dedicate the newly updated Elsa Abele Training Center. The ceremony featured testimonials from friends, students, colleagues, and loved ones of Elsa, in addition to AANE leadership and those whose lives she touched through her work.
