An exploration of factors affecting eating behaviours and BMI

Research Study

The research aims to explore the association among individual characteristics, eating behaviours and body mass index (BMI). The number of adults in the UK that fall into an unhealthy weight range – underweight, overweight, obese – continues to rise significantly, therefore research that investigates the factors and potential barriers to eating a healthy diet is required. This study particularly focuses on sensory profile and autism spectrum disorder, as populations with ASD are at a greater risk of falling into an unhealthy weight bracket. Participants with a diagnosis of ASD are therefore needed.
