Housing
Independent living for an adult with an Asperger profile is a goal for many families. However, there are several factors that influence the choice of housing including the amount of support that they require to live independently (the volume, frequency and type of help they might need) and the amount of subsidization they need to finance their housing. There are a variety of public and private options available to individuals with disabilities that help with both support and subsidy. AANE offers several good resources to help individuals and their families tease apart the issues and plan a successful transition from family living to independence.
