Academy MetroWest is a children's activity group therapy program located in Natick. We use physical activity centering on cooperative, non-competitive games as a means of addressing self-image and social skills among children aged 6 - 15. Commonly encountered presenting problems include ADHD, Asperger's Disorder, Non-verbal Learning Disorder, Anxiety, and others.
The position we have available would start out as a part time role but would expand to become full time in late June. For the remainder of the current school year, we are looking for someone to work as a trainee/co-leader for 1 to 2 afternoons per week. During the summer we run a small day camp and at that point, the position would become full time. It would continue in that capacity into the the 2008/2009 school year.
The applicant should have a master's level training in counseling, social work, special education, school psychology, or a related field. Optimally, he or she should be comfortable working in a physical setting and have experience working with children.

The Obsessive Compulsive Foundation, founded in 1986, has been the leader in advocating for those affected by and advancing public awareness of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, or “OCD.” As the Foundation enters its third decade of service to those suffering with OCD, it seeks to expand its impact on the community through enhanced programming, timely resources and advocacy for improved treatment. The new Program Director will play a pivotal role in broadening and deepening the understanding of OCD among healthcare providers, stakeholders, family members and the general public through expert management of the Foundation’s signature educational programs. I am looking for a mentor for my 26-year old son with Asperger Syndrome. He is in his 4th and final year of a the Threshold Program at Lesley University (Cambridge, MA), has his own apt., is looking for a job, and doing well independently. Yet he needs someone who can work with him regularly on life/social issues. He has had such a coach/mentor who has helped him immensely, but may no longer be available in the near future. I am looking for someone to be an aide to attend day camp with my 14 year old AS son. The position is for the first two weeks in August and there is one overnight involved. The camp is an Audubon camp in South Natick and my son needs help with transitions and peer relationships. We will pay approx. $12.00 per hour plus gas money and would love for the candidate to be able to drive to and from camp (we live in Needham). Understanding of Asperger's is a must.
