AANE Survey for Parents with Children Now or Formerly in Alternative School Placements

Families often call AANE when their child's current educational placement is not working effectively and the family is considering placing the student in a different school setting. The AANE staff has felt strongly that we need more detailed and current information about these alternative schools and programs. We are hoping that many of you who have experience with alternative schools and programs will share your wisdom and insights with us so that we can provide better information to parents who call us for assistance.

Over the past year, the AANE staff has visited several programs for children and teens with Asperger Syndrome and related conditions and interviewed school administrators. However, to get a more complete picture, we are asking for input from parents. To this end, we have developed a survey for parents to provide information to us about your experience and child's experience in an out-of-district school placement.

If you have a child age with AS or a related condition between age 3-22 who has recently been or is currently in an out-of-district placement, we are asking for your input. The link below will bring you to the survey. We anticipate that it will take you about 20 minutes to complete the survey (a little longer if you have experience with every topic). As an extra incentive, parents who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing to win free registration to our 2012 Annual Conference featuring Tony Attwood, or a free consultation with AANE staff.
