Autism and Asperger's Parent Support Group

Date: Second and fourth Wednesday of each month

A new parent support group is forming in Keene! Come and learn more about autism spectrum disorders and have a place to share your challenges, joys and resources for success with others who are on the same journey.

Whether your family is new to the diagnosis or you have years of experience, you will find something to interest you. All parents and caregivers of an individual with autism, Asperger's Syndrome or related disorders are welcome. Join us the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Recreational Activity Group

For young adults-adults with high functioning autism, Asperger’s syndrome and/or other related similar neurological based challenges.

Hosted by Wentworth Douglass Hospital

Meet new people for games, conversation and food. Another activity time will be planned each month for specific activities of interest to participants.

Recreational Group for Adults with Asperger's Syndrome in Keene, NH

A social recreation group for adults with Asperger's Syndrome and related disorders will meet regularly at Antioch University New England, 40 Avon St., in Keene, NH in room 1B. The group will offer adults with Asperger's Syndrome and related disorders an opportunity to socialize on a regular basis, twice a month. Activities will be developed by the group itself. For the first meeting, participants are encouraged to bring a board game of choice and an appetite for pizza. This group is sponsored by the Asperger's Association of New England - New Hampshire Chapter.

Exploring the Confluence Between Education and Mental Health

Beyond traditional counseling/psychotherapy services, the following is based on a collaborative approach to working with clients, parents and the educational system. The Center for Collaborative Change is an adjunct and integrated set of services to enhance the impact and comprehensiveness of counseling.

Referrals are welcome from parents, special educators, and medical & mental health professional. All referrals will benefit from the full resources of both the Center for Collaborative Change and Coastal Counseling Assoc. including family, individual and co-parenting services.

Speech Connections - Social Activity Group, Portsmouth

On the second Friday of each month, the Speech Connections' social group for adults meets in the Portsmouth area from 6:30-8:30 pm. The purpose of this time is to go out into the community and have fun! All activities are facilitated by a special educator from the Speech Connections' staff (we ask for a $5 contribution for this facilitation). Theraputic Homework Club - Center for Collaborative Change

The only joint academic and emotional intervention designed:

  • to redirect academic frustration
  • to prepare and support students to face academic barriers to work independently
  • to understand the importance of collaborating with homeroom teachers
  • to support students towards self reliance and empowerment
  • to prepare struggling students to complete school work effectively, efficiently and professionally
  • to provide a short term intervention with on-going support opportunities such as counseling, in school collaboration, tutoring and coaching

Concord Social Connection

An Opportunity for Adults who Experience Asperger’s to socialize, engage, and connect with other adults that share the same interest.  Each week there will be the opportunity for members to check in with each other, enjoy conversations play some board games, and decide as a group on a community social activity that the group will do in the following 4-6 weeks.  Some of these activities will include, going out for dinner, Fisher Cat games, live entertainment offered in the area, mini golf, or going for a local hike; whatever the group decides would be most enjoyable.  All expenses for any activities will be the responsibility of each member participating.
